did you have to move the motor mounts??does the trans fit without modding the tunnel?? i was thinking about the older 4.3 because mine is carbed and i don't want to worry about the FI swap

I have an hb not a 720 so the fit of the engine will probably be a little different. I got the motor mounts AC sells which bolt to stock position on frame, but not sure if they are offered for a 720 it wouldn't be hard to fab some up though they are really pretty simple. My 4L60E fit in the tunnel fine this just the electronic version of the 700r4, but again there are bound to be differences in fit between hb's and 720's.

I've just put 4.3 vortec and 4l60E trans in 95 hardbody.custom gabbed engine and trans mounts. Still work in progress, but it fits well. Now doing wiring for PCM to fit under seat. Had to remove column shifter as no room for linkage, going with floor mount hurst shifter. Even put 16" chevy wheels on with adaptors of course. 3" body lift on 2 wheel drive to get trans to fit without underbody changes. So far very excited about my project. Doing in spare time if there is such a thing. Had to use manifolds off of 92 S10 to fit in bay. Custom cut/bent exhaust pipe to make tight corners and cross under bell housing for y pipe and dynomax with valve tech muffler and then dump behind cab. Still lots to do but wanted you guys to know it does fit with small mods. Also am open to advice from anyone who has already done this swap. Can also give a little advice about what I have done as well.
